I'll be getting into Donald Trump's tax policies, whether or not a certain public mortgage lender should be privatized once again, and how real estate investing will be affected by another Donald Trump presidency. The housing market in 2020 has been, interesting, to say the least. Housing inventory is very low, mortgage rates are historically low, AND the housing market is RED HOT, even in our current economic situation. I still believe that the housing market will crash in 2021 and remember from Monday's video where I get into how presidential elections DO NOT have much of an effect on the housing market. US Presidents do NOT have as much influence on the economy as we are all convinced that they do. In reality, the market goes in cycles regardless of who's sitting in the Oval Office. And it is very rare for a sitting President to enact policies to really affect the us economy. Now we may see things get better OR worse if Donald Trump is to get re-elected in the 2020 presidential election. I believe that most of the housing market effects will come from landlord and tenant relations. Now the eviction moratorium is looking to be expiring in a few short weeks and that will tell us the outcome of the housing market's future. But what will happen with evictions, mortgage forbearances, tenant displacement......the list goes on and these are the factors that WILL affect the housing market, especially in 2021. The housing market is part of US economic domino set, when something happens in one market, we could see additional effects in another market. Especially in the housing market and the banking/mortgage lending arena. One of the big things that Donald Trump is pushing is to privatize Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac once again. And this will be huge if pushed through for the housing market. They are responsible for HALF, 50%, 5 Trillion dollars worth of mortgages. The second point is Donald Trump's Tax policies. Trump's tax policies incentivize investors to INVEST in areas that wouldn't normally be invested in. Trump being a real estate investor, I believe understands how the real estate market works and how it affects people every single day.
